Updates on the Author's Progress with Future Works and
Special Events Concerning the Lazarus Man Novels

I've been very busy since my first novel, Lazarus Man: Resurrection, was printed and my website launched in late November 2009. There was a waiting list of interested readers wanting to read my book, and several also wanted to give copies as Christmas gifts, so I had a hectic holiday season signing books and filling orders. After the holidays, I started promoting my novel locally and online.

A friend suggested I create a Fan Page for my Lazarus Man Chronicles trilogy on Facebook. I found it remarkably easy to do and finished it in minutes. Within days, dozens of friends and fans signed up. Here's what it looks like: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Saint-Joseph-MO/Lazarus-Man-Chronicles/201383459704?v=wall&ref=ts&ajaxpipe=1&__a=3

I discovered a book website, Bookbuzzr/Freado, that allows authors to list information about themselves and their works and post excerpts from their books for everyone to read online. I added Lazarus Man: Resurrection to the site's offerings on December 29, 2009, and had amazing results almost immediately. The first day, my novel was ranked #1 of 189 sci-fi novels in online readership. After 10 days, it was ranked #1 overall, out of all 2,800 books offered on the site. In January, I was notified that my novel was one of only 73 books that had ever made it to the website's Top Ten list—out of more than 5,000—and my book was awarded a Top Ten ribbon. By April, more than 25,000 readers had sampled my novel online. Here's the link to my novel's page on Freado: http://www.freado.com/book/5231/Lazarus-Man-Resurrection

On February 24, my book was front-page news as I made the front page of the St. Joseph News-Press with a feature story on my background and how I came to write a novel so late in life. Reporter Jimmie Myers wrote a concise and informative article with a color photo, and the online version also included a video clip of my interview. http://www.newspressnow.com/news/2010/feb/24/authors-book-spans-century/

Also in February, Lazarus Man: Resurrection was featured in the St. Joseph Free Press newspaper and on its sister website, KeepStJoeWeird.com. http://keepstjoeweird.com/post/325565397/lazarus-man-cronicles#disqus_thread

Before the year was out, I had book signings at Borders and Hastings stores and gave presentations on my novel at two public libraries.

As 2011 begins, I'm writing Lazarus Man: Reunion, Book Two of the Lazarus Man Chronicles, and it's coming along very nicely. I've finished the first draft of the first seven chapters.
